Propositioning the Self with Experiments in Noticing: A sensory exploratory workshop

In this workshop we gather for a short experience on noticing. We will do this by leaning mostly into the auditory sense. We listen to a range of recordings, engage in sonic meditations and in slow and quiet activities. You will be provided with a small publication to notice and record your impressions.

Past Projects

Community of Practice: Create/Activate/Extend
May 30 – June 10, 2023
Opening reception: Mon May 29, 5:30-7PM
Knife-Skills Workshop, Thur, June 8, 12-1PM
at The Anna, NSCAD, Halifax

A group exhibition and workshops offering. The exhibition draws parallels between visual media, performance art, and community-based practice to map the ways Master of Art in Art Education students make sense of their own communities. Each of the works presented reflect on how we relate to space and place, where we find solace or tension, and how we move through our communities. My contribution to this exhibition takes the shape of a workshop offering to activate social practice in the gallery. I will inhabit the role of artist and educator while teaching knife skills to a group of 10 people. The workshop is open to youth aged 14 to adults. More info and registration.
